When used in conjunction with the MB-8N tuner base, the WRU-8N supports remote operation and set-up monitoring over standard Ethernet connections. Don't even think about buying this

I bought 4 for these for my alarm system. After a couple years one of them wouldn't pass the walk around test. After a lot of testing and reprogramming I gave up on it. Then another failed a while later with the same symptoms - it fails the walk around test but will fault if the cover is taken off. Another huge time sink to try and fix. Neither Honeywell or the dealer will give me the time of day even though they claim these are reliable. Don't buy these. Honeywell won't stand behind them. There is a newer version that's smaller - unfortunately I have money sunk into the system so I have to buy replacements...would like to dump Honeywell completely.

Works great, simple to configure and install

Put it 7-7.5 feet up a wall. In the middle of a wall or in a corner. The signal goes down at a 45 degree angle and to the sides at about 45 degrees as well. So, it is perfect for a corner. We have a cat and he doesn't set it off, but a person sure does. Completely wireless.

Good, basic functionality

The LCD unit works very well. The picture recording feature is great as well. Screen clarity is decent but very viewable. Colors are a little crazy but I attribute that to not-so-great camera unit. There are color customizations in the on screen menu though.cons:The outside camera unit is not sufficiently water resistant. I've had to open it up and dry it a few times after heavy rainstorms and the unit is in a covered housing.The gate/door opening button in the LCD unit only works with door buzzer systems and not single circuit, one button gate opening systems. I had to wire up a separate button to control my gate.
