this is the best solution for home security! It works just as they say it does! I love it. Not only can I see who is at the door I can talk to them easily. No home should be without this item. It's easy to install, just takes a minute.

Be sure you check your current peep hole size before you buy this item!When I opened the box I was greeted with the caution that it requres a 9/16 inch diameter hole in my door. My current peep hole is 7/16 inch. I spent a few hours via Internet and my local hardware store and find no good easy way to bore out that hole and keep it round and neat. My drills are all 1/4" and I don't want to invest in a bigger drill just to install this system.Moreover, I find if I decide I don't like the item, I can't go back to the original 7/16" hole and the biggest standard replacement peep hole viewer I found is 1/2".Had I known of the 9/16" requirement I would never have ordered this item. It will not "install in minutes" here.It'll work fine for you if you have the right tools and you're certain you won't return to your old viewer.The merchant graciously refunded my purchase price, along with sympathy, but it cost me $17 to find out I couldn't use the item. If he included one simple sentence describing this requirement in the description it would have saved me trouble, money and headache.UPDATE:After reading how another reviewer only had to ream out part of the hole, I decided to try my hand at it again. I used a drill saw and managed to enlarge the hole just fine by taking my time and working slowly. Then the installation was very easy.Currently, the device is working perfectly and performs very well. The doorbell is loud enough to hear most everywhere, and has a different ring from our side door. The speaker could be a bit louder, but is definitely loud enough for its purpose.It's already saved me headaches... I've told solicitors I wasn't interested and they quickly leave, I tell others to put their literature in the door and they also leave quickly. They don't feel the need to go through their entire repertoire to convince me I need to buy, contribute, or sign up.I've changed my review from two stars to four, and if it weren't for the problem with the peephole size, I'd call it a five.

Works Great! I wanted this unit because the stranger outside does not need to press a button to talk (unlike the competitor's unit). Only other door intercoms I found are as part of various whole house systems. Entryway Eagle unit is a 1989 patent and yet still the only inexpensive easy option for a door intercom.I did not enlarge my existing peephole to 9/16 (though this voids warranty). Only purpose of enlarging is for the skinny wire so I just filed a little groove in my existing peephole to accomodate the wires. Even if wires were to break, splicing would be straightforward.And I modified the installation further by reusing my existing National Hardware peeper cause its 200 degrees. Same fine threads as the Entryway Eagle peeper but since my 200 degree was not nearly long enough to go through both units I used the outside half of my 200 with the inside half of the Entryway Eagle peeper and fed the peeper only through the outside intercom letting the inside intercom hang just below the existing peephole. The Entryway Eagle peeper is fine but 200 degrees is better - you can see the bottom of the darn door!!Only issue I had was it took over 30 days to arrive. I had to email the company. They responded quickly by email. Was the original shipment lost or not sent? - I don't know. But they then quickly sent one priority mail along with a free gift for the delay. Obviously a reputable seller.
