works well but had problems after a few years

I have had this installed for 3-4 years, the last year I have had false alarms. It is mounted well above our wood stove looking out (not at the wood stove) and would go off in the middle of the night when no one is in the room. TYCO said maybe its the hear (even though its about 10 feet above the wood stove and would go off when it wasn't going too). The battery alarm isnt going off. I am going to buy another one and mount looking at this one from about 30 feet from the stove and see what happens.
