WIFI IP Camera

Having experience in IP Cams, this camera did not disappoint. Setup was a breeze using the supplied mini CD. Once the network finds the camera, the wireless feature is activated using the wifi setup screen, and setting up port forwarding on the network router. The camera is used indoors to keep an eye on pets. Pan and tilt with audio works great. I use with both google chrome and Internet Explorer. Video quality on par with Foscam equivalents. For a fraction of the price of the Foscams, I highly recommend this Tenvis model.

Baby Monitor

I purchased this product with the purpose of monitor my baby in his new room. The camera has a great price and features. The quality of image is very good. These are the cons for this camera for the purpose I'm using it:The camera reset itself frequently with the on line tool and loses the point you were looking at and the audio.If I go to sleep and the the camera resets itself, I lose the baby view and the audio because every time you start the camera, the audio needs to be turned on.I found an alternative solution to stream with VLC and it does not reset as much (once every two weeks) and the audio is on all the time which is vital for my inetented purpose because when you are sleeping, what is warning you if something is wrong is the audio. But still the audio has delay and after a few hours becomes intermittent.I have the camera in a wireless mode. I will try to connect it with LAN to see if it will improve.***Update***Using VLC and a LAN instead of wireless, the camera does not reset the position and the delay of the audio is only 2 or 3 seconds but I can live with it. Much better performance and serve the purpose. I have not checked for upgrades in the softwares or in the online tool.

Bad Picture quality, avail customer support with work

This camera is okay; the picture quality is not good and hard to pan correctly. The feed goes down a lot online so don't expect to monitor all the time. I had difficulty getting in touch with Tenvis as their hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm monday to friday. I work so that's not easy hours. I did contact the company I purchased from and left a message and they called me back. Then the tech support for tenvis called an hour later. They skyped and he did help me get the feed online. But the next morning, feed has gone down again. The price is cheap on this camera, so if cost is an issue and you need a quick monitoring camera, go for it. I am just looking for something a little better. The camera will get about a 380P viewing which is around 640x480 pixels.

Wireless means the signal... Not Power

I bought the 2 camera system and this camera is Super! Yes you have to run a wire to power it (Duh!). But the signal is sent via 2.4ghz. RF (the wireless part). You can mount the little DVR anywhere that you can get reception. I have mine down in the Den next to my recliner, but, you can move it easily if you need to monitor from, say, the kitchen. The two way "intercom" is nice to have!If you need power outage protection, you will need to install a ups power outlet for each camera (use one for a computer and hook the camera supply into the outlet from the ups)I set up the system and installed 2 cameras in an afternoon without any stress. It did take a little planning, but, it was really straightforward.It is a lot cheaper than the multi thousand dollar systems. And the pictures (even after dark) are spectacular!

Power cable quality inadequate - without power the camera is useless.

These cameras have a fatal weak link. The power cable is underrated. It breaks easily and cannot be repaired because of its small size. Since the cable is hardwired to the camera, it cannot even be replaced. Worked okay until the power cable gave out after just 5 months. Now dead/useless.

Great for apartments!!

When my family moved into this two bedroom appt in a bad neighborhood we started looking for alarms everywhere. The difficulty is finding a wireless alarm system that is efficient and affordable. For small aparments or homes with only a few entry points this alarm works perfect. It came with two contact alarms which can work on doors or windows, and two motion sensors. My favorite feature is that it comes with two keychain remotes. This way you can set the alarm to your house just like setting a car alarm and no need for typing in codes.

Very limited

System works well and is easy to install, but is very limited. It comes with 2 door/window sensors and 2 motion detectors. The manual (page 14) says you can add additional sensors to this system, but in fact this is not true because neither Swann (nor any third party that I can find) sells additional sensors for this system. (Swann sells other door/window sensors, but they can not be used with this wireless system.) So if you want to protect more than 2 doors and windows, you can't. It's difficult to imagine a house with only 2 doors + windows. Additionally, one of the sensors did not work when I received it, leaving me with only one door/window sensor. I recommend finding yourself another system with more capabilities.

Great For Apartments

This simple system is great security device for the likes of apartment and small homes. It may not be on the same level as Fortress GSM G5 Wireless Home Alarm System with iPhone/Android App & RFID TechnologyA, but it still provides with everything is going to keep your home guarded. The item is easy to install and when you start It up, all you have to do is let the system do the rest.
