Much better after replacement and/or firmware upgrade

I'm a big Schlage fan and have a bunch of their home automation products installed in my house. I was excited to see that they were coming out with an outdoor wireless camera. Unfortunately, the performance of this camera has a lot to be desired. I added it to my Schlage (Nexia) system and mounted it right outside the front door. The response time from when the video reaches your computer or mobile device has about a 45 second delay. This pretty much renders it useless for any type of worthwhile video monitoring or recording.I also have a Schlage indoor camera located inside my house which is about 20 feet away and it happens to work perfectly. Both are connected via a wireless connection and both have a very strong signal.UPDATED 10-9-12: Changing my review from 1 star to 4 stars. I received a replacement camera from Amazon and it seems to be working much better than the original. When I activated the replacement camera, there was a firmware upgrade which automatically downloaded. So, I'm not certain if it was the replacement camera or the firmware upgrade that made the difference. Either way, the delay in video signal has been reduced greatly.

I just got the Schlage outdoor camera. The documentation for setup is poor, but a little playing around and understanding their control console will get you up and running. The camera works well, but sharpness even on high resolution needs to be worked on in their software. The camera has difficulties with light adjustments during the day. Night vision is good. A zoom version would be a nice feature. Technical support, if you should need it runs only during the weekdays, EST.

Easy to install but for the motion recording software it needs improvement. Need to have software updated to adjust sensitivity level of motion sensor. I have the Camera up and working as it gives a clear shot on Low Resolution but on High it hesitates on the video when you playback. Night vision works pretty well. The only thing is the camera is only good for is the Nexia Home Intelligence system and if you don't pay your monthly fee I don't know if this camera will still work. Camera is made tuff as its kind of heavy and feels well built. I would prefer a battery operated one so it does not have to be plugged into an outlet the wireless signal seems to be good too! I would recommend it, if you desire to keep surveillance outside and will continue to use the Home Intelligence system otherwise think of another system. I like it but when my yearly membership is due I will have to weigh the experience of the Camera and System with the bill. I also have another system that was allot cheaper and totally wireless but the night vision is not great that is why I am trying this one.
