Great kit

This was easy to install took about 2 hour to install all sensors and program them.Only down side is my small dogs do set off motion sensors when in the away mode. Key fobs work from a long distance even from the car at the end our driveway. And had no problem setting it up to call our cell phones to call in case of alarm.

Easy DIY System

I replaced and old hardwire system I paid $30 a month for monitoring with this model and it does everything an ADT or professional installation system would do including a fire alarm which was one of the most important features for me. Paying $30 a month for 9 years and never having an issue I decide I could put the money to better use. Those with paid monitoring service know they will call you first in most cases than the police if they don’t get an answer or the password they ask for is incorrect. With the service I had which was reputable it took up to three minutes before I heard from them during a false alarm, the shield Tech system when tested call me in 16 seconds. I set it up to call me first and 3 other numbers including my local police, time is always a factor and one less call can make is all the difference especially should a fire start while I’m out. If it calls me I call the police and cut out the extra phone call and time it takes the the middle man to do. I have the option with this system to pay for monthly monitoring service as well for $9.95 a month with my old service monitoring companies are subbed out by many Alarm Systems. Point is you have the option to pay to have your home professionally monitored.You need to install the panel near an electrical outlet and the closes phone line “if you plan on having the system call you or paying a monitoring service” and most homes don’t have an electrical outlet or phone line at front door. However because it’s a wireless system and all the sensors are wireless you don’t have to have the panel by your front door, it can be installed in the closest room to the front door or any room if you prefer. You can set it to 45 or 90 seconds which gives you more than enough time manually arm and leave or disarm and enter. The biggest bonus is it comes with remotes you put on your key rings, you can arm and disarm the system from your drive way and never need to manually set it.If your thinking about replacing your hardwire system with Shield Techs hardwire system which handles both wireless and hardwire it’s not going to be compatible with your door/window and motion sensors but your wiring will be in place. I decided to go all wireless and avoid any technical issues I might have run into but again you have that option. This system does everything my old system did plus more minus $30 a month to baby sit. I was looking for a system that would call my cell phone in the event of a break in instead of paying a high monthly fee to a monitoring company. This system fit the bill perfectly. A wide variety of sensors and accessories are available. I also like the ability to configure such features as the entry and exit delay times. So far no false alarms. We are very satisified with this product.
