The Fortress S02-B is the ideal kit for anyone wishing to install a security system inside the home. Complete with magnetic sensors for windows and doors, the unit detects any forceable break in as well as any suspicious movement in rooms by means of the passive motion sensors. It also comes with an extra siren for added volume outdoors. The S02-B comes with three passive motion detectors and ten door contact points. Easy to install and setup, you'll have your own security alarm system running in no time!
Fully programmable, the S02-B will automatically call a designated number in case the security system is breached. It can also be used to play a recorded message or custom sound. Worried there is someone in your house? Call the system from your phone and actually listen to what's going on.
Deactivate the device by punching in the number on the keypad, or disarm before you even get in the front door with one of the three supplied keyfobs. A panic button also sounds the alarm if you suspect an intruder in your own home.

Best System for Basic Applications (Homes and Apartments)

It's very difficult to find a justifiably priced alarm system on Amazon. The few exceptional systems cost over $500 dollars, and the cheap $60 dollar systems don't usually give enough accessories to truly protect and secure the home, and the main features end up suffering as a result. I came across this Fortress system a week or so ago, and I was pleasantly surprised at what came with the system, and the price point was very fair. In order to do justice to anyone considering this system, I will briefly go over the main parts of the S02-B system. To preface, the entire system is preprogrammed, so that shaves a significant amount of time off the initial installation, especially for someone not accustomed to security systems.A. Main Panel: The main panel is very standard as far as alarm system main panels go. Fairly cheaply made, but communicates well with all the other accessories. Auto-dial feature calls out up to 5 numbers subsequently in case of a break-in, and it also plays a 10 second recorded message, which you record yourself. You can also control the system from your phone, which includes arming the system, disarming the system, and listening in. This is a very useful and handy feature.B. Contacts: This system comes with 10 contacts. The contacts are placed underneath the main panel in the packaging, along with the power adaptor for the outdoor siren and the panic button. 9 contacts are on the bottom, and they are all numbered from 5 to 14, which designate how they interact with the main panel. Each contact comes with a magnet, transmitter, and adhesive tape that attaches to the door/window frame. These are very easy to place around windows, etc. Make sure the smaller magnet piece, is on the side of the transmitter with the 2 LED lights. It will not work on the other side (Make sure the red light flashes when they are pulled apart from one another.C. Motion Detectors: This system comes with 3 motion detectors.The motion detectors come with a swivel, a few screws with screw "holders," and a mounting bracket. Setting these motion detectors up are very quick and easy, and all you need is a screw driver. They work extremely well, and pick up even the slightest of movement by a person. I was very impressed with them, as I have had experience with other systems, and they didn't work nearly this well.D. Remotes: This system comes with 3 remotes. The remote has 4 buttons; arm, disarm, emergency help, and home arm. I only use the remotes, since they are so easy to use, and I do not even have to touch the base.E. Indoor/Outdoor Siren: The indoor siren is wired and plugs right into the base unit, it is very loud. The outdoor siren has 10 feet of cord to play around with, and also packs a very loud punch, be careful when testing. They are both preprogrammed, and come with all the necessary adapters. I placed my outdoor siren in the top portion of my sliding glass door leading to the patio, and my indoor siren (110 dB) is right next to the main panel in the hallway.Pros: The system is very cheap for what you get, and it comes with enough accessories to fully secure a moderately sized home or apartment. The auto-dial feature is very cool, and I love the fact the system will notify me. Fortress customer support is very efficient and fast, and they reply back to Amazon emails within a few hours, and in some cases even quicker. Fortress has their own website with updated manuals and videos which makes installation a breeze, and questions be answered quickly.Cons: No major bells/whistles, Very Basic. But I wouldn't expect any for the price.Overall a very solid purchase for a beginner looking to protect their home. And the Seller "Fortress", is very available for their customers, and will guide you with baby steps, until you feel 100% confident with your system. Thanks again Mike!

Husband and I just purchased a new home, and we needed a wireless security system that would cover a lot of access points because we have a patio, garage, and several other entry points on the main level as well as the second floor. We found this system from Fortress because it was the cheapest one listed under the category my wife and I looked under. We also live in a fairly rural area, and if anyone were to break in the outdoor alarm is loud enough for the neighbors to hear. The auto-dialer function is important because my wife and I go out a lot, and having such a convenient way to alert us on our phones is very re-assuring.

I've been looking into self monitored alarm systems for some time know. I can say without a doubt this is the best deal around. The system works great and is very easy to install. I won't go into detail because several other reviewers have covered the operation of the system and how easy it is to install. The system does have its limitations, you can't set the arm or alarm delay lower than 1 minute. I would have liked to set it at 30 seconds or below. You can see from the build quality that this is a mass produced product from China however you can't expect ADT quality components for $180 or less. I've been following the reviews from others for several months and no one has yet to complain that the system falls apart after 6 months. I've had it installed for two weeks and it is working perfectly.I've only had two issues, I ordered 5 additional window/door sensors from Fortress Security and one of the sensors was bad. Mike from Fortress sent me two replacements right way. The external siren had a short which blew out the power supply so Mike sent out a new Siren and power supply. The system comes with a 3 year warranty, I have to believe that the components are above average for the seller to warranty the system for that long.I know this is a product review but I have to give Mike from Fortress some props. I have called him several times over the course of the installation and with the two hardware problems. He was always very courteous and helpful and responded quickly to all of my requests. His customer services skills are well worth the price of the system. Great job Mike!
