Good system for the money
By Odie
We use about 11 of these systems at rental properties as well as my private home and find it to be a good overall value for what it is.The fact that it comes pre-programmed in the kit for quick install is also a definite plus. The typical configuration we use is as follows:-3 door sensors-2 motion sensors-External outdoor sensor to watch HVAC units and people exploring around. (the external unit is expensive, but worth it if you have expensive stuff in the back). It's been a great ROI for us.Highlights of the system:-Fairly easy to install, since it comes pre-programmed with sensors-Lithium Batteries for wireless sensors (some use Sanyo and GP batteries)-Decent feature set and you can mix with a few hardwired devices from older alarm systems to extend it at both the panel level and also door/window sensors. I haven't done this personally, but it's there for those interested. Unfortunately you share the zone on remote sensors.-Manuals online and videos online as well...plus they include them just in case.-Supports dual sirens-Keyfobs-Easily extensible-Decent tech support/return policy (purchased from home security store).-Only one bad external sensor out of 11 units...so far so good.Lowlights of the system:-Loud keypad and haven't found way to hush it up-Manual is a bit confusing at times, yet amusing at some of their drawing they expect you to understand.-GP Batteries, but they recommend Sanyo or Panasonic for UL installs. GP keeps cost lower and it's a decent battery for what it is. (We haven't replaced batteries in 18 months, so that's not a bad ROI)-They make a killing on accessories, but I guess that's the norm for most alarm systems.-Only sold through 3rd party, so you can't buy direct from manufacturer based in Israel. Not a big deal, but just an observation.-Door/window sensors not aesthetically pleasing and look cheap, but they aren't.-Buy a kit to save the most money, since accessories afterward are very pricey.-Not pro grade, but hits the sweet spot.-Only two hardwired zones off the panel.-Doesn't include siren

Visonic Powermax+ a very good system
By T. Maleck
I purchased this for a new small business. It sets up pretty easily, but I'll agree with others the meaning of some of the terms in the manuals are difficult to understand at first. I watched the setup videos, and by tinkering around with the system during the install, I got a good understanding of how it worked pretty easily.I used the two optional hardwire inputs as well, which were a bit confusing to understand, and I'm an electrical engineer. Total time to get an eight zone system fully working was around 7 hours, including installation of the sensors and hardwire cables. I also learned not to have the auto dialer call more than twice. I set the alarm off a lot during installation, and the multiple calls got old fast. One point of note, if you are on the edge about buying this +KIT2 or a kit with fewer sensors, thinking you can add them later, you can, but they cost a lot more than the kit price. I needed one more wireless PIR sensor, and it is $70, by itself. The upcharge in the kit was more like $30.

Good product
By Timothy
It is great that all of the items come pre enrolled, but I bought an extra motion sensor- not the easiest thing to do. After a little while I got used to scrolling through the menu and figured out what I was doing. Definitely watch the included DVD and take your time. Besides that I love this product. Our house got broken into last month, but luckily nothing stolen only the front door kicked in- 80lbs German Sheppard scared them off... Didn't want to push our luck and got this. It installed extremely easily, besides figuring out how to enroll the extra motion sensor. FYI the included sensor is the Next985mcw Pet Immune Wireless Motion Detector. I couldn't find anywhere that stated which sensor was included when I was trying to order, but was exactly what we needed for the dog. Been installed for about a week now and have not had any problems with it. Dog has not set it off or anything, I have though, lol. Highly recommended product and would buy again, but watch the DVD.
