Great for the price
By westcoast
I have had this alarm system for about 4 months now, and for the price I can't complain to much, it works fine but a few things that didn't give it a 5 star:The wireless sensors are pretty flimsy (other reviews noted that as well)If I wanted to bypass a zone, say window that I wanted to leave open, it's next to impossibleThe display information is not very friendly, kind of hard to read and interperate what it means without having to get the book out again.I purchased a wireless external alarm because the one in the keypad could easly be destroyed by an intruder. But if I wanted all the things I knocked down about this alarm system, it would have cost me ALLOT more, so for the money and pease of mind... I would recommend it to a friend.

Simple Do-It-Yourself home alarm system.
By Philipp2
It took some reading and an email to the supplier, but in the end this seems to be an excellent security system for the home. I only wanted a system that would alert my wife or I in the event that someone was attempting to break into our home at night and possibly to scare someone off. This seems to be a great system that accomplishes just that. The system that I bought had sufficient door/window sensors to cover all of our accessible openings. It can be monitored by a professional agency for a small monthly fee, but I felt that by the time the police arrived, the intruder would have left anyway. I do have it call my cell phone on an alarm and so far I have received one call due to a power interruption. Of course I was very cautious when returning not knowing what triggered the alarm, but it was obviously not a break-in.Since we have a couple of cats, I was concerned that they might set off the motion sensors, but so far they have not.One feature that I would have liked, is when it calls me to let me know what the alarm consists of; Door, window, motion, power, etc. I have added an additional motion sensor in the far end of the house just in case - -

This unit has more functions at a very reasonable price
By Barry Roy
I shopped for weeks after my wireless alarm installed in 1995 was hit by lightning. This unit has more functions at a very reasonable price than any other units I evaluated. The dialer is a plus but most of all the sensors needed to be able to penetrate walls and go the distance that I needed. Installation was made much easer because the seller rewrote the original manual that was confusing but helpful after reading it a few times. Telephone support was used one time and was helpful. After the installation the main unit failed but because this seller has been in business for over ten years I felt sure they would accommodate me; they sent a replacement within days. I waited a few weeks to write this just to make sure the replacement did not fail.I recommend buying extra sensors just in case you may need more or one fails after a few years. That happened to me with another brand and sensors were not available. My only complaint is the wired siren cannot exceed 100ma and my outside siren draws over 2 amps 2000ma. My solution was to put a 12vdc relay that draws 40ma on the wired siren circuit and use an external power supply to power the outside siren via the relay. After you install this product you will feel confident to install one for everyone in you family. I will for mine.
